HERE needed to prove that a service could automatically and accurately determine the proximity of a user to local businesses. During the proof- of-concept phase, SPAN needed to achieve target levels of accuracy, then create prototype services featuring maximized throughput.
SPAN engineers developed and tested a series of algorithms to determine the proximity of a smartphone user to business by using only GPS location and publicly available data. After creating a working proof of concept, we developed a prototype that could calculate sufficiently accurate results at speed in a realistic deployed environment.
The prototype solution was developed on-time and is currently being evaluated by HERE and a large partner.
