Accelerating into a New, Global Market

SPAN built a prototype solution to help TiVo enter the multimillion-dollar global automotive streaming-media marketspace in only a matter of months.

The Challenge

Though known for their industry-leading entertainment service platform and set-top boxes, TiVo is expanding and innovating with new digital service offerings. TiVo identified an opportunity to provide listeners with a data-rich automotive radio experience and asked SPAN to help them build a proof-of-concept solution that could be integrated by leading automotive brands. 

What We Did

Collaborating closely with TiVo and third-party data suppliers, SPAN led a rapid, iterative design and development project. Our expertise in digital media, data-processing pipelines, UI design for complex, data-driven systems, and automotive solutions in general, enabled us to deliver the right solution on an extremely tight schedule.

Results

TiVo received great praise from the initial solution and has launched in market with BMW and Audi.  Additionally, they are in discussions with other leading automotive manufacturers in key global markets.
